I just learned of Chris' passing when I read an article on the Belmont trolley today. Chris and I were friends from our movie days. He worked on the first few film projects I was involved with. Later he and I were roommates until I married my wife Trudy. Chris was in our wedding. He was a great guy and a great friend.

I want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss of Chris Allen. As a board member and former President of Charlotte Trolley, I came to know and appreciate the man - Chris Allen. He was a true gentleman who possessed unique skills for the restoration and preservation historic trolleys especially Charlotte Trolley Car #85. I always will remember him for the smile on his face.

I lived just down the street from the Allens. They were always very warm and kind to me. Lots of fond memories. Chris and I once got to ride in the cab of a mail train out of Hamlet, NC. I don't know how he arranged this, but he did. I really enjoyed the time I spent with Chris. Cyndy, my condolences to you during this difficult time.

I'm so sorry to hear of Chris's passing. We were close friends in high school and I truly enjoyed his family. His mother was terrific and always inviting me to stay and visit. I have attempted to find Chris over the years. All the very best to his wonderful family as they say farewell.
