Obituary of Lee Berry Foster

Lee Berry Foster passed away on December 30 2018. The family is still in shock that this beautiful and vibrant spirit is no longer on Earth. A Celebration of Lee is planned for Thursday, January 3rd at Heist Brewery in Noda at 7:30pm. All who crossed Lee’s path are welcome to join us for an uplifting gathering filled with love and laughter. Program will begin at 8pm and dress is casual.

Lee was born in Memphis, TN to Dr. William and Dorothy Berry. She was a larger than life personality from birth. Lee moved to Charlotte in 1992 with her family. Her first career was in sales where she worked for companies such as A+ Communications and USA Mobility.  She began her second career as a yoga instructor in 2011 after graduating from the Barkan Method of Hot Yoga Teacher Training.  In 2013 she realized a dream of owning a yoga studio when she became partners in The Yoga Oasis, Inc. with Elaine. They shared a common and inspiring vision of making the healing benefits of yoga accessible to all people and were known for their yin yoga offerings in Charlotte. Most recently Lee was serving as General Manager for Club Pilates on South Providence in addition to her yoga teachings.

Lee was known for her energetic, magnetic personality and her infectious laugh. Everyone that knew Lee understood she valued her family and health above everything.  She loved to learn, was a voracious reader and was always game to try any type of holistic healing approach. Lee inspired others to live a full, joyful and healthy lifestyle.

Lee was the oldest of four who her family referred to as the Queen. The Berry sisters are known for laughing, dancing and always bringing the fun to any setting.  Lee and her husband Keith had a passion for traveling, listening to music and enjoying fantastic food together.  They shared lots of amazing memories whether at home, in the mountains of Asheville, or on their preferred location of a sandy beach. Lee was an incredible mother whose love was always big, steady and engulfing. She was the world’s best GML (Grandmommy Lee) who loved every second of being with two of the biggest joys of her life, her grandchildren.

Lee is survived by her husband, Keith Coe, her daughter Emily (Brian) LeFevre, her son Daniel Foster, and her grandchildren Samantha and Henry LeFevre. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel Wooten Foster, and her father Dr. William Alfred Berry.
