Steve and I had been friends since Parkway Elementary in Frederick, MD. We saw many Baltimore Oriole games together, starting in 1954 when our fathers drove us to old Memorial Stadium, and continuing through the World Series in 1966. During high school Steve and I even interviewed former New York Yankee Charlie Keller, who lived in Frederick. In the late 50s we followed the Frederick High basketball teams closely. This is a long way of saying that Steve was a good sports fan and that I am happy to have shared those moments with him. Phyllis - to you and your family, I am truly sorry.
A kinder more gentle person is hard to find. Steve was the epitome of generosity always with a kind word. His volunteering with disadvantaged children who came to love him for his association with Landsdowne and Cotswold Schools is well known. In addition to his family, kids at these schools loved their Mr. Steve. Steve will be missed by all who knew him. Our sincere condolences to Phyliss and his large and loving family... Herm & Barbara
