Obituary of Walter A. Cremens

Mr. Cremens, 85, was born November 16th, 1932 in Cold Iron, Kentucky, and died on August 13th, 2018. He was the son of the late Jack Cremens and the late Sarah Trussell McDaniel and was preceded in death by his wife Betty Keith Holbrook Cremens, son Brian Reese Cremens, and brother John McDaniel. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly Dean Cremens, son Jeffrey Allen Cremens, his daughter-in-law Amy Klingensmith Cremens, and their children Mary Catherine and William Reese Cremens of Charlotte. He is also survived by his sisters Nancy Jo McDaniel of Atlanta, GA, and Dot Harrell of Moncks Corner, SC.

Mr. Cremens was a very proud member of Park Road Baptist Church and the American Institute of Architects. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War in the Radio Corp aboard the USS Basilone and attended NC State University Architecture School. He was a very talented architect and after his retirement from Peterson and Associates in 1998 he remained very involved in the industry. 

He immersed himself in reading and writing and served many years as an adult Sunday school teacher at his church. He truly enjoyed travel, cooking, and music. 

A memorial service will be held Friday August 17th at 2pm in the main sanctuary of Park Road Baptist Church, 3900 Park Road Charlotte, NC 28209. Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Special Olympics. Arrangements are with Hankins and Whittington, Dilworth Chapel 1111 East Blvd Charlotte, NC.
