Obituary of Kenneth Ray Williams
Kenneth R. Williams of Charlotte, NC age 82 died peacefully at home with his loved ones on Tuesday June 19th 2018. He was born in Mecklenburg County. He was the youngest of eight siblings. Blind from birth he went on to study massage and worked for the Dowd YMCA in Charlotte for 35 years.
He was married at seventeen to his first wife Peggy. They had three children together. His middle child passed away during childbirth. Later he would meet and marry the love of his life Ida in1971, married for 47 years.
He enjoyed sitting on his porch listening to the wildlife. He also enjoyed his pets, gardening, music, police scanner, playing cards, his citizens band radio, and his 1989 Cadillac. His handle for the CB radio was card shark.
He had a great love for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Elam and Maggie Williams of charlotte, His son Eric Williams, three brothers, and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife Ida Williams of Charlotte; his son Mike Williams and wife Linda of Matthews; daughter, Rhonda Buffkin of Charlotte; three grandsons, Michael and Tony Williams of Matthews, David Buffkin of Charlotte; six great grandchildren, Hayley, Serena, Leah, Michael III, Kaitlyn, Valerie and one great great granddaughter Astrid.
