Obituary of Roger Lee Abbott

Roger Lee Abbott made his long-awaited journey to his Heavenly home on Saturday, October 28, 2017. Roger was born in Greenwood, Mississippi in April of 1953. He loved the Lord, his family, the state of Texas, and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. Roger also loved his country and was proud to have served in the United States Air Force. He lived his life trying to make a positive difference in the lives of others. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Albert & Aline Abbott. He is survived by brothers - Larry (Helen) Abbott of Alabama, Billy Abbott of Virginia; sisters - Sylvia (Robbie) Smeltzer, Patsy (Greg) Baker, and Brenda (Tom) Paul, all from Charlotte. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Jeremy (Ryoko) Abbott, Kathryn Abbott, Liz (Alan) Ewert, Travis Smeltzer, Brandy (Danny) Krystynak, and Jamie (Chad) Karrow; and great nieces and nephews, William Karrow, Gabe Abbott and Ashton Krystynak. The family sends special thanks to the staff at White Oak Manor and all of the wonderful people from Hospice. Hankins & Whittington is handling the arrangements for the family. There will be a private family service held on Saturday, November 4th. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
