Obituary of Charles Augustus Williams

Charles Augustus Williams, III, age 82, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Born January 19, 1935, in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late Charles Augustus Williams, Jr. and the late Irma Iris Edmonson Williams. Mr. Williams retired from the North Carolina ABC Commission as an Auditor after 27 years of service. Mr. Williams was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Charlotte. He was also an active member in the Charlotte Downtown Rotary Club. In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by his wife, Daisy Hicks Williams, daughter, Annette Williams Lamb and brother, Richard Williams. He is survived by his grandson, David Charles Williams and his wife Megan of Clover, SC; his granddaughter, Brandy Meadows and her husband Andy of Winston Salem, NC; his great grandchildren, Kaleb Charles Williams, Jaxson Williams and Haven Rarig; sister-in-law, Kathleen Williams of Cary, Illinois and a number of nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be conducted Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 3635 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28209. The family will receive friends Monday evening, November 6, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28203.
