Obituary of Patsy Wingate Trigg

Patsy Wingate Trigg, age 88 of Mooresville, North Carolina died early Saturday morning surrounded by family. She attended Charlotte Technical High School and Appalachian State University where she received a B.S. in Elementary Education. Patsy dedicated her life to helping people. She worked for the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services, Metrolina Association for the Blind and Charlotte Memorial Hospital. In later years she was a substitute teacher at various schools in the area. Patsy enjoyed traveling, reading, listening to gospel and country music, and spending time with her family. She was an active member at Southside Baptist Church in Mooresville. She is survived by a daughter, Janet Watts Roddie, a son, Thomas Ray Watts and wife Sandi, four grandchildren; Bonnie Watts Smith, Aaron Watts, Haley Roddie, and Nolan Watts, five great grandchildren, sister Nancy Roberts, seven nieces and nephews, and her longtime friend and companion Ray Witherspoon. Patsy was preceded in death by her son Mark Hunter Watts, and two loving sisters, Kay Mullis and Greta Nelson.Patsy was blessed in her final years to have three amazing caretakers; her niece Cathy Osborne, neighbor and friend Susan Newton, and longtime family friend Carol Mader. A celebration of life will be held for Patsy at Southside Baptist Church in Mooresville, NC on Thursday, December 21st at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Prior to the service the family will receive family and friends at 2 o'clock in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make donations to the Alzheimers Association (alz.org) or the charity of your choice.
