Obituary of Thomas E. Tevepaugh

Thomas E. Tevepaugh Jr, 76 went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2017 with his family by his side. Born in Charlotte, NC on January 3, 1941, the only son of Thomas Earl Tevepaugh Sr. and Earlie Mae Baker Tevepaugh. After graduating from East Mecklenburg High School, Class of 1959 and taking courses at Kings Business College, Tommy joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He refers to those 4 years as, "The best times of my life". It was an honor for him to serve as he had a great love for his country. After his duty was complete, while traveling out of town on business, he met Patricia Ann Martina in Richmond, VA and after a brief courtship were married on September 14, 1968. They settled in Charlotte and were married for 34 years until death parted them on June 13, 2002. He marked that date as "The day I lost my best friend". Tommy worked many years for Thurston Aviation and later retired from Napa Auto Parts. He was a gun lover/collector, specializing in skeet shooting and dove hunting. He liked Nascar racing and Formula 1. He was a "Weather Nut" and had an interest in lightning/thunder storms and the rain. You could often find him relaxing with a cold beer and his pipe. The love he had for his family was beyond measure. He was an excellent husband and caregiver, father and grandfather and all around great guy. Surviving him are his daughter Kelly Dianne Tevepaugh, son Thomas E. Tevepaugh III and granddaughter Alicia Nicole Tevepaugh all of Charlotte.
